I'm Julian Cassin, founder of Cyborg Unicorn Pty Ltd and creator of software that pushes beyond conventional approaches to application development, computing, and information security.

I build sophisticated web applications with desktop-level functionality, develop unusual security and messaging systems, and explore what happens when you rethink the fundamentals rather than accept the usual limitations.

My projects span modern web technologies, information-theoretic security, AI-assisted development, real-time messaging, and the world of 8-bit computing.

What I Build

• CyborgOS — A hypervisor for the Amstrad CPC, written in NTC BASIC, allowing multiple CP/M programs to run in their own 64K memory banks.
• NTC BASIC — A VB5/VB6-style BASIC compiler targeting Z80 systems, bringing structured programming and compiled performance to vintage hardware.
• ZOSCII — An alternative approach to data security based on address indirection rather than conventional encryption, with the UNSIGNAL protocol extending it for communications.
• Cyborg Unicorn Radio — Experimental music distribution and broadcasting, including real-time ZOSCII-encoded delivery through a messaging queue.
• Web Applications & Tools — Full-stack applications, developer utilities, AI integration, and systems designed to work across everything from phones to legacy computers.

Why Itch.io?

I'm interested in software that is different, technically challenging, and fun to explore. That includes retrocomputing experiments, unusual programming languages, interactive demonstrations, tools, and projects that challenge conventional assumptions about how software should work.

Some projects are practical tools. Others are experiments in architecture, performance, security, or computing history. All are built with a focus on understanding how things work under the hood.
